The legendary Silver Cloud was a tough act to follow -- but in 1965, Rolls-Royce successfully did just that. The resulting Silver Shadow became the most popular - and one of the most iconic - Rolls-Royces ever built, produced all the way up until 1980. Her familiar form evokes images of your arrival at a Hollywood blockbuster premiere. Two of the most familiar Silver Shadow owners are actor Michael Caine, and the legendary Johnny Cash. We acquired this beautiful original car on New Years Day, 2021, with a mere 43,000 original miles -- a true museum piece.
Our Silver Shadow was ordered new by Henry Bruce Keiser - Lord of Tuxford, lawyer, publisher and business leader - for his wife, Jessie. It was purchased through Len Immke, who besides being a car dealer, was also the co-founder of Wendy's Restaurants. In addition to practicing law in Washington, D.C., Mr. Keiser was either Chairman, CEO, or both of several major corporations, including both Lion Worldwide and Empire Carriages in London, U.S. Telemarketing Inc. in Atlanta, and The Philadelphia Institute. As a highly successful attorney, he was admitted to the Bars of New York, District of Columbia, Florida, the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Tax Court, and the U.S. Court of Claims. In 1959, Mr. and Mrs. Keiser founded Federal Publications, Inc., becoming pioneers in the emerging field of public contract law. Mr. Keiser also served as a major in the USAF Reserve. In 1998, after his passing, Mrs. Keiser established the Henry B. and Jessie W. Keiser Foundation, Inc. Today, their Foundation supports, among other things, the programs and exhibits of the National Air and Space Museum, and more about the Keiser's story can be found on their website.
What's in a name?
"Abigail" is in honor of our founder's daughter, who served as our test-driver for this lovely car after her reconditioning -- and to first lady Abigail Adams, owing to the car's long history in Washington, DC.

"Coats Classic Cars made our wedding day extraordinary. Our classic car was a hit, but the team made the experience even better... James was not only a kind and wonderful driver, but he held umbrellas, escorted us down hills, and made sure we were comfortable and taken care of all evening." -Emily & Casey, married at Cliffs at Glassy in Greenville, SC
