In the early 1990s, General Motors built the world's last true Station Wagon. And the wagon went out in style, as the top-of-the-line Buick Roadmaster Estate. Featuring leather interior, a moonroof, a figured walnut dashboard, a rearward-facing third row seat, and power everything -- the station wagon had its last word. We've had this since new, and when our grandfather bought it, we never thought it would one day be a collector's item!

Affectionately known as "The Barge" in our famiy, we took the wagon to the beach, the racetrack, and the occasional car show. It was fun to load up with 7 or 8 people and just go. Little did we know we were enjoying the station wagon the same way generations before us had done... generations who had grown up with this American icon.

Then some time back, a gentleman called us:

You are going to think I'm crazy, but I've called every limousine company in town -- and then I found you. I... My son... needs an old station wagon. You see, he's getting married this weekend at Mountain Brook Club, and his bride-to-be grew up in the 80s with a wood-grained station wagon. He thinks it would be great if they could ride away from their wedding in one."

"Well, sir, we just happen to have one" we said, having never thought about using it for weddings. And she loved it! Just look at her face. Once we got the photos, we had to put "The Barge" here on our website, and it's been used several times since.

What a great way to be different.
